Auckland Bioengineering Institute

The Auckland Bioengineering Institute (ABI) is a cross-faculty research centre. Our research deals with the application of mathematical and engineering sciences to biology and human physiology. We aim to improve understanding of physiological processes and the diagnosis and treatment of injury or disease.

Business School: The University of Auckland Business School has an unconditional commitment to quality teaching and research in topics that are forward-focused and relevant to the commercial world today. Faculty of Medical and Health Science: The Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences is a large and dynamic faculty with more than 4,000 students and 1,000 staff. We are rated in the top 1% of biomedical universities in the world.

School of Medical Science: The school is based at the Grafton Campus, and is made up of six departments and two disciplines. The departments are: Anatomy with Radiology, the Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre, the Biomedical Imaging Research Unit, Molecular Medicine and Pathology, Pharmacology, and Physiology. The two disciplines are Nutrition and Oncology.

School of Nursing: The school has a goal of improving the health of all New Zealanders through the clinical and professional excellence of its graduates. To achieve this, our staff are not only academics, but leading industry practitioners.

School of Pharmacy: The School of Pharmacy prides itself on producing graduates with the broad range of skills required to fulfill the vital role of pharmacist.Undergraduates in the Bachelor of Pharmacy programme examine how drugs are developed, used, and how pharmacists can optimise patient care through interaction with other health professionals.

School of Population Health: Established in 2003, the School of Population Health is the first of its kind in New Zealand.
Our goal is to provide the knowledge and skills to improve the health of all New Zealanders, by focusing on factors that affect the wellbeing of entire populations. The school’s expertise covers all aspects of primary care, health services, and public health.

School of Medicine: The School of Medicine delivers the faculty’s undergraduate Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBChB), facilitates and encourages clinical and applied research, and develops and delivers postgraduate programmes across the school’s clinical areas.
