About De Montfort University :
De Montfort University is a dynamic organisation, formed from a diverse range of specialist institutions. Its long history of excellent teaching, learning and research is founded in the technical and trade education of the late 19th Century. The name itself is associated with Simon De Montfort, Earl of Leicester, a distinguished figure in English history and widely credited with establishing the first parliament in 1265.

Over 4000 students and 150 academic staff make Leicester Business School one of the larger providers of business and management education in the UK. Our challenging undergraduate, specialist masters, MBA and research degrees are offered by the Business School’s six Departments of Accounting and Finance, Corporate Development, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Public Policy and Strategy and Management.
All our courses are informed by leading edge research and current business practice. We enjoy strong links with the major UK professional bodies and public and private sector companies and organisations. Our courses provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that today’s employers seek – team working, report writing, making presentations, creative problem solving and research and analytical skills.

The focus of the Department of Engineering is knowledge creation and dissemination. We do this through world class research and teaching that is underpinned by our research to provide a first class student experience. The Department continues to enjoy high standing in external rankings for both teaching and research. Engineering is a subject defined by creativity in solving problems. One of the most pressing problems of the early 21st Century is protecting the environment at the same time as advancing technology. We are making our contribution through the development of Environmental Engineering to complement the established and successful Electronic and Mechanical disciplines at the heart of the Department.
School of Health & Life Sciences : Health and Life Sciences is one of five faculties based in Leicester, close to the city centre. The Dean of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is Professor Barry Mitchell. There are around 420 members of staff in the Faculty, organised into four Schools.
The Schools of Allied Health Sciences, Applied Social Sciences and Leicester School of Pharmacy are located in the Hawthorn Building on the City Campus. The School of Nursing and Midwifery is located on the Charles Frears campus, which is situated on a very pleasant site some two miles from the City Campus in Leicester. The faculty grouping allows the academic schools to collaborate across the subject boundaries in teaching, consultancy and research.
