About Memphis university:The University of Memphis was founded under the auspices of the General Education Bill, enacted by the Tennessee Legislature in 1909. Known originally as West Tennessee State Normal School, the institution opened its doors Sept. 10, 1912, with Dr. Seymour A. Mynders as president.set cell vertical height. School of Health At Memphis university : The School of Public Health is newly formed following approval from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission in 2007. It builds on our successful programs, a Master of Public Health and an accredited Master of Health Administration degree. University of Memphis offer areas of study in bio statistics, environmental health, epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, health systems, and health administration. Our faculty expertise is diverse and we have strong collaborations with local, national, and international partners that enrich our teaching, support research projects, and offer opportunities for graduate placements and research experience.I appreciate your interest in public health and the exciting challenges facing our profession. School of Engineering At Memphis university: On Feb. 7, 1964, the Tennessee State Board of Education accepted the resolution authorizing then Memphis State University to accept a gift of $100,000 from Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Herff to start a master's degree program in engineering science.
