About Drake University

Drake University has been on the approved list of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since that association was established in 1913.  Since reorganization of the Association in 2000, Drake University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.  Drake was granted continuing accreditation in 2008.Drake University mission is to provide an exceptional learning environment that prepares students for meaningful personal lives, professional accomplishments, and responsible global citizenship. The Drake experience is distinguished by collaborative learning among students, faculty, and staff and by the integration of the liberal arts and sciences with professional preparation.

School Of Business At Drake University: Drake University are committed to helping our students develop leadership skills, values and ethics important to the business climate today. To achieve this goal, Drake University programs are innovative and offer the best learning opportunity to our students. We rely heavily on our relationships with local, regional and national alumni and businesses essential to our programs.Drake University faculty’s combined business and teaching experience sets us apart from other universities. With 46 full-time faculty members and 15 staff members, we work hard to maintain a “real-world”, applications-based teaching environment. This is done by living our mission– bringing the classroom into the world and the world into the classroom.Today, more than 1,100 undergraduate and 500 graduate students are choosing Drake to begin or enhance their business knowledge.  

School Of Nursing At Drake University: Drake University’s commitment to pharmacy and health sciences began when it affiliated with the first college of pharmacy in Iowa, the Iowa College of Pharmacy in 1887.   The current College of Pharmacy originated in 1939 when Des Moines College of Pharmacy (previously Highland Park College) merged with Drake University.The College is committed to providing an outstanding curriculum enhanced with extracurricular programs focused on developing entrepreneurial leaders with professional commitment to embrace change and advocate for their respective professions. This goal is achieved by providing a unique educational environment that combines outstanding liberal arts education with exemplary professional experience and training.
