About us
Redpine Signals is an eleven year old fabless semiconductor and wireless system solutions company. It delivers leading edge products for next-generation mobile and M2M wireless applications. Redpine was the first in the industry to launch an ultra low power and low-cost single-stream 802.11n chipset in late 2007. Again, in 2009 Redpine pioneered the adoption of self-contained 802.11n modules into the then emerging M2M market. In 2011, the company created an innovative approach in wireless space; "Simultaneous Dual-Band" operation in Wi-Fi which is going to be a fundamental feature in all future wireless communications in dense environments. The company offers chipsets, modules and systems covering multiple market segments including industrial, consumer electronics, medical, mobile, PC, and smart energy. Its technology portfolio includes multi-stream 802.11n, 802.11ac, LTE Advanced, dual-mode Bluetooth® 4.0 and ZigBee®.

With its products backed by 46 patents granted and over 150 in the pipeline, Redpine is helping over 1,500 customers deliver products in the M2M space, enabling fast penetration of wireless technology in all aspects of Life. The company has more than 170 employees worldwide.

Mattela has over 25 years of engineering and management experience in the semiconductor industry and drives company's strategy, execution and R and D. Prior to Redpine, Mattela was at Analog Devices as Director and was responsible for the product development and strategy for media wireless connectivity solutions. Before ADI, Mattela was at Infineon Technologies as Director and was responsible for micro-architecture and design of TriCore MCU-DSP processor. Mattela started his career at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India in January 1983 and held various engineering positions at LSI Logic and CMC Ltd. Mattela has a Masters Degree in Computer Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India and holds 11 US patents.
