N R Panicker is a distinguished entrepreneur and technocrat with over 30 years of experience in IT and Media industries. He is the founder Chairman of the Accel group, which employsmore than 3000 professionals in five countries. He is an entrepreneur par excellence and a visionary, having created the Accel group from very humble beginnings to a well known IT and media group within 20 years.

Mr Panicker hails fromamiddle class family fromChertalla village inAlleppey district. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications from the College of Engineering, Trivandrumin 1976 and was ameritorious student throughout his education career.

Post his graduation, Mr Panicker travelled to Delhi in 1977, as jobs were not readily available for qualified engineers back home. He joined Hindustan Computers Ltd (now HCL) in 1978, where Mr Panicker was recruited as Customer/Service Engineer in the company's computer division.

Even as a fresh out of the college kid, Mr Panicker dreamt big, bold and unique. And it was this out-of-the-box thinking, along with Mr Panicker's commitment and passion for Information Technology that pushed him into becoming an entrepreneur.

Ideas were big, but without financial muscle they were naught. But determined to see light of day, Mr Panicker struggled for 13 long years before venturing on his own and seeing his dream come true. And then began the journey called Accel, started with a capital of Rs 50,000 to Rs 500 crore plus group currently.

Mr Panicker has never looked back since then. He firmly believes that if you can dream, you can fulfill the dreamtoo. He now has a new dreamforAccel – that ofmaking it a well recognized brand in India, Middle East and Africa regions by 2015.

Mr Panicker is now an accepted corporate leader, a leader with a human touch and compassion.Mr Panicker believes it is every corporate's responsibility to create jobs and employment for the less fortunate people in our society.

He has also initiated Accel's formal CSR initiative by forming Accel Charities Foundation during the 20thAnniversary celebrations. Under the initiative, 2percent of the profit before tax from all the group companies will be contributed to Accel Charities Foundation every year, to be used for education, healthcare and development initiatives in backward areas.
