Zimperium: Transforming Mobile Devices from Threat to Advantage for Enterprises

Enterprise mobility is on the verge of explosive growth. Smart devices are being used to enhance enterprise productivity as well as connect better with customers. "Companies have adopted mobile devices, but are yet to catch up on the latest threats like they did with traditional PCs and networks," states Zuk Avraham, Chairman, Zimperium. Due to the unique challenges the mobile world presents, traditional PC security software vendors fail at providing mobile security solutions. However, Zimperium is unlike any of them. Instead of try to port methods used to provide PC security, Zimperium has built from the ground up a mobile security solution that is capable of protecting against the most advanced cyber attacks, without impacting the user's privacy and device battery.

"We offer advanced protection from both host-and network-based attacks and secure smartphones from all threat vectors - browser, NCF, Bluetooth, apps, malicious chargers, and cellular network," says Avraham. Zimperium MobileIntrusion Prevention System (zIPS) is an on-device solution that protects organizations at all times, when the app is running in the background or even when it is not connected with the cloud. "Zimperium's Machine-Learning enginez9 is built for iOS and Android devices to provide complete security-irrespective of whether the devices are behind a firewall or not," he adds. z9 is a unique technology that uses advanced algorithms to learn about new sophisticated threat
patterns in near real-time and ensures that enterprises are protected from zero-day threats.zIPS predicts attacks based on behavioral analysis using thousands of device parameters, without any insight into actual data residing on the device. "In essence, we provide mobile security with complete privacy to end-users. We transform mobile devices from threat to an advantage," remarks Avraham. Zimperium's predictive analysis technology turns each mobile-device into a sensor that is capable of detecting the type of attack and surfacing the details of the attacker.

The company's zConsole offers visibility of mobile attacks across an organization. "If an attack is detected, zConsole generates a forensics report to help track the source and cause of the attack," explains Avraham. Furthermore, Zimperium also has zANTI, through which enterprises can regularly monitor the vulnerability level of networks in their organization. Zimperium is currently working with the U.S.'s leading financial institution for global deployment of their solution. "Our mobile security solution helped them bring inexpensive Android devices on-board, while enhancing business productivity through mobile use," reveals Avraham.

Zimperium's technology is not similar to any other mobile security vendor. "By virtue of our technology, we have little competition in the market today. The types of attacks that Zimperium focuses on are more similar to what FireEye is doing in
PC security and Palo Alto in network security," says Avraham.

In addition, Zimperium is investing heavily into its research and innovation facility zLabs-led by the company's founder and white-hat hacker Zuk Avraham. Boasting several industry renowned mobile security experts, "zLabs is an assurance to our customers of our continuously evolving capabilities," emphasizes Avraham. Unlike Zimperium, other security solutions are not equipped to detect unknown attacks. "Through zLabs, we bring to light several important vulnerabilities which if left undiscovered, would harm millions of mobile devices." 'zLabs' research helps drive thought leadership in the mobile security world. "We are keen on protecting more devices and enterprises while continuing to support our growing community of security professionals," says Avraham. Zimperium made zANTI open source in July 2015 so as to leverage the expertise of larger security community. The company is committed to evolving its technology continuously to encompass the needs of next-gen smart devices.
