“Summarize your life story in only six words,” asked the Professors at Wharton Business School. “Life is short. Create your legacy,” replied Meena Krishnan,President and CEO of Inoventures. A pivotal moment happened in 2006 when Meena lost her mother, brother, and both nieces in a car accident during their vacation in India. She was stunned on her career path. After many months of self-reflection,she realized change was the only constant and facing it head on was the only option. To leave a legacy for her departed family, she established Inoventures which grew to be a national-award-winning Public Health IT company, creating a social impact in the Historically Underutilized Business (HUBZone) regions of the USA.

“We use innovative technologies to analyze and solve pressing Public Health problems. We analyze Big Data and extract intelligent information from chaotic data across commercial and government industries,” begins Meena. “Analytics is of no use if proper application strategies are not used, so with great analytics we offer practical techniques to apply them in alignment with customer vision, thereby saving them precious resources,” adds Meena.

Inoventures has two separate units which go hand-in-hand: Public Health and hi-tech solutions centers. Through its subsidiary SciMetrika, the firm provides impactful public health analyses and through its hi-tech center, assists in converting such analyses into meaningful insights.

As an example, HIV is a critical issue in the USA that causes significant health, social and economic problems. Inoventures’ subject matter experts work with the CDC and Indian health Services (IHS) to study HIV infected Populations and come up with programs to prevent it. For nearly two decades, the company has been addressing various Public and Global health issues and preventing other chronic illnesses and disease breakouts. The firm is currently developing sophisticated analyses on Ebola Outbreak in Africa and Malaria outbreak in India to give a few examples. Violence prevention against women and children, cancer prevention, research on essential oils that create addiction in cigarettes are also other examples.

Meena serves as part of the Board of Directors for the National HUBZone Council 501(c) 3 non-profit to implement meaningful social programs nationally. She also serves on the Leadership Advisory Council of Women Impacting Public Policy, and NIH’s Board of HUBZone Consortium personally creating a social impact in financially disadvantaged areas.

Inoventures has a diverse customer base, including CDC, FDA, IHS, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), The US Census Bureau, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Veteran Administration (VA) and Hughes. For instance, Inoventures supports the US Census Bureau to develop software, assist with cloud migration, testing, and control. Inoventures employs state-of-the-art database and geospatial analyses to support the Bureau’s 2020 Census initiatives.
