After the US and China, India has the largest group of rich persons in the world and this gives you an idea about the power India seizes even though it’s a developing country. Mukesh Ambani



Chairman of the Reliance Group, Mukesh Ambani is a well known billionaire businessman in India. He manages Reliance Industries which deals with refining, petrochemicals and the oil and gas sectors. His Jio services has been a huge hit recently for its free offering of domestic voice calls, cheap 4G phone data services and inexpensive smartphones. Jio’s prominence helped the company to sign up 323 million customers so far.

With all the success, Mukesh Ambani is the richest Indian billionaire with an estimated net worth of $50 billion. Globally he is the 13th richest person in 2019 and the richest man in Asia overtaking Jack Ma, the founder and executive chairman of Alibaba Group in 2018.

Azim Premji

Born in 1945, Azim Premji is an Indian business tycoon, investor, engineer and philanthropist who is the founder of Wipro, the third largest outsourcing company in the world with a revenue of $8.4 billion.  Remarkably, in 2013, he promised to give away half of his wealth by signing the Giving Pledge. Premji formed Azim Premji Foundation in 2001 with a focus on the education in India. Recently, Wipro grew immensely after they won the 10-year deal from Alight Solutions of Illinois.

Premji has been awarded Padma Bhushan for his outstanding work in 2005 by the Govt. of India and later in 2011, he has been awarded Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award by the Govt. of India.

As of now, Nadar currently holds the 82nd position in the world in terms of net worth.

ArcelorMittal is now the world’s largest steel producer with an annual crude production of 92.5 million metric tonnes.

Known as the ‘King of Steel’, Mittal has been a member of the board of Directors of Goldman Sachs since 2008, on the board of Directors of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company and he also sits on the World Steel Association’s executive committee. He also has 11 percent stake in Queens Park Rangers F.C, an English football club and has a good interest in sports as well.

Kotak Bank acquired ING Vysya Bank in a deal valued at $2.2 billion in 2015 and the total employment jumped to almost 40,000.
