It is not the strongest of the species who survive,
not the most intelligent,
but those who are
the most adaptive to change" – Charles Darwin
Workplace Learning & Development (WLD) has gained tremendous importance in
today's corporate world. As more and more skilled resources are required to do
complex tasks, as geographical borders vanish, as demographic profiling becomes rich,
varied and unpredictable, the demands based on any professional are various –
effective communication skills, professionalism, cross cultural sensitivity,
leadership, mentoring, effective interpersonal relations, core competencies, and
more.
In the past, while organizations have been spending a lot of time in
planning, budgeting, and ensuring WLD happens in a systematic manner, of late, more
and more focus is on customized, just-in-time WLD initiatives that show significant
RoI. Hence, merely designing and delivering a training program is not enough.
