The motivation behind providing professional coaching
on soft skills dates back to the experiences of our instructors in their long
professional careers. Soft Skills Coordinates was founded with the express mission to provide innovative coaching on
skills that even qualified graduates may lack despite actual work experience. The
reason is straightforward – such skills involve a lot more than the ability to
speak a language fluently or solve a technical problem at work. These skills
include the ability to get things done while working within a highly complex
organizational structure under stiff deadlines, shrinking budgets or other
human-caused obstacles, the confidence to take hard decisions and accept
responsibility of their outcome, the talent and discipline to carefully examine
various options before taking decisions, the mental stamina to continuously move
forward notwithstanding personal challenges such as stress, potential unemployment
through layoffs, etc. Even experienced professionals may be ill-equipped to face the
harsh realities of today’s global slowdown unless they have invested in a
‘personality overhaul’. One does not automatically acquire these
skills through years of experience. Only after carefully examining one's personality
deficiencies and taking remedial measures through professional coaching
can one develop the soft skills top employers look for in potential
employees. But soft skills need to be constantly exercised - the higher you
move up in your profession, the greater are the demands on your soft
skills. If you lack basic soft skills, chances are you are unhappy not only
professionally but in your personal life as well.
