Working since 1990, Prof. Patkar's work has focused on the conception, planning, and implementation of projects involving the application of new technologies (especially Infomation Technology) to education and development.

More broadly speaking, he has over 18 years of experience as a Trainer & Consultant in Educational Institutions & the Software Industry. He has worked towards induction, integration and evaluation of new technologies, and coaching and mentoring students in the same. He has conducted hundreds of courses and taught thousands of students in his many years of work in academic set-ups like K. J. Somaiya Engineering College and his own training & development institute ACS (www.rajeshpatkar.com). This has helped him develop insights on problems faced by the students, along with a pressing need for quality coaching and adaptation to everchanging technologies. He has helped change the outdated syllabus being taught to students and channelized their creative talents, thus illustrating the role of a teacher as a tutor, mentor, and a friend.He has also acted as consultant to several projects in the software industry. Currently he is the consulting Software Architect in Zedo (Ad Serving company) and BaySquare (Developing Applications in the Telcom domain) .
