Started in the year 2004 on 29th May, among huge fanfare, INIFD Chennai was launched by the Vice Chancellor of Annamalai University L V Venkatrangan  in the presence of prominent personalities of Chennai city. The Occasion was graced by none other than Miss India Universe Sindura Ghade and Miss India Asia Pacific Niharika.

Fashion had a new meaning for Chennaites, now with their expertise and huge network base, INIFD brought to Chennai, what the city was missing for long. It brought a design institute where anyone who aspires to create a great career in design was welcome with open arms.
