Bangalore: Zynga has scored full marks with its latest launch CityVille. The social game was launched in November 18 and within 24 hours it attracted 290,000 players. This is by far Zynga's largest game launch, overtaking the previous best mark of FrontierVille that had 116,000 users in day one of its release.
To add to that boasting figure, about 6.5 million players are added to CityVille everyday. CityVille is Zynga's first new game in six months and is available in five languages- English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish- simultaneously.
The game's availability in these many languages has also contributed to its popularity. Zynga is cashing on in the language wave and has recently released a Chinese version of Texas HoldEm Poker while FarmVille has been launched in Japanese.
As per TechCrunch reports, most of CityVille's initial spurt is attributed to players notifying others by inviting friends or posting about the game in their status updates.
CityVille is Zynga's most ambitious project till date and includes 3D renderings. The game asks the players to build their dream city from scratch. It involves creating cities while balancing the needs of virtual inhabitants and nursing to jobs such as running businesses and harvesting crops.
