Zapak and Jagex Games bring RuneScape in India

Mumbai: Zapak Digital Entertainment, and Indian online gaming company, in association with Jagex Games Studio, UK's games developer, have launched the free massively multiplayer online game 'RuneScape' in India. Zapak will be the marketing and distribution partner for RuneScape in India. The game was launched by Rob Smith, Chief Operating Officer, Jagex Games Studio and actor Aftab Shivdasani. Zapak RuneScape has also announced their tie up with MTV Roadies 7 as an official game. RuneScape is developed by Jagex Games Studio. It is a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game. It is a graphical browser game, operated by Jagex, implemented on the Java application and incorporating 3D rendering. The game has approximately 104 million active accounts, and is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world's most popular free massively multiplayer online role-playing game. The game has been played by over 150 million gamers worldwide since it was first launched in 2001, making RuneScape the most successful browser based game in history. RuneScape currently has over five million unique players a month including over one million paying subscribers. The game is updated weekly with a new content, quest, skills or events which make new challenges to face whenever players log on. RuneScape has a standard and a premium version. The standard version game offers hundreds of hours of game play and for more adventure the premium game offers exclusive member only quest, skills, houses and advances social interaction which are chargeable. The monthly subscription of the game is available at over $5 in the U.S. whereas Zapak will offer the monthly subscription to the Indian gamers at 150. "RuneScape has been developed to appeal to multiple demographics and it will make its mark in India.
