Yahoo! Open Hack 2012 Saw the Largest Number of Participants
Bangalore: Filled with excitement, energy and of course the signature Yahoo! bean bags, fifth edition of Yahoo!’s Open Hack took place in Bangalore on 11th and 12th August. The uninterrupted 24-hour hacking marathon which has become a calendar event for the developer community witnessed more than 700 nerd hackers from all over the nation.
The participants were fed with a series of technical workshops before the main event. Experts from Yahoo! delivered their knowledge about hacking and introduced the hackers with Yahoo’s User Interface (YUI), YQL, etc, which one of the participant said, made coding easy as they included pre-designed templates and data from all over the world.
In midst of a chaos because of Wi-Fi connectivity issues in the Grand Ball Room of The Sheraton, there were a few hackers who had come planned with a few ideas, but most of them preferred meeting new people, do some brainstorming (which took time from less than an hour to even 15 hours) and come up with a new idea to start working upon.
