The housing market was one of the cornerstone of its stellar growth. But the market was hit hard when the global recession began. Also, the government policy of giving tax incentives is mostly for investment in property and not for investment in business. The state also lacks a large domestic market. There are also speculations that as the eurozone debt crisis deepens, the country will default on the creditors and will leave the eurozone.
