Bangalore: Microsoft has imposed rules where the chipmakers should go for not more than one computer manufacturer. Earlier chipmakers could work with multiple computer manufacturers in versions of Windows software. Chipmakers using the next version of Windows for tablets are imposed with the restrictions. In turn, Chipmakers who agree to abide Microsoft's rules will be provided with incentives from Microsoft. Although the program is not mandatory. Microsoft's latest program seeking to duo one chipmaker with one computer maker might increase the chances of initial success by enabling the company to focus efforts on a smaller number of designs. According to the Journal, the first generation of tablets running Microsoft's upcoming update, each of the chip makers would be required to follow the restriction but later it would be lifted and chip makers would be able to work with other device makers. This new program has not yet been made public. Apparently, imposing of these restrictions would help Microsoft speed the delivery of new Windows tablets. It also enables firm control over partners and accelerating development and testing. The restrictions may encumber chip- and computer makers from building a variety of Windows-based models to vie with Apple Inc. (AAPL)'s iPad. As part the development process, Microsoft persists to talk regularly with hardware partners around the world. Microsoft is still in the process of developing its next version of Windows. The contemporary rules by Microsoft may include features that ensure the device runs better or lower prices for the software.
