Karbonn launches dual SIM touch phone
Bangalore: Karbonn, a new entrant in the mobile phone sector, has launched two new mobile phones, K560 and K460. K560 is a dual SIM handset with touch screen technology and K460 is a stylish slider mobile with 300 hours battery standby time. Sudhir Hasija, Managing Director, United Telelinks, said, "Karbonn aims to bring fantastic features and great technology in mobile handsets within everybody's reach. We strive to provide our consumers with world class performance and unlimited entertainment on our phones." The Karbonn K560 a personalized music interface and has a Wolfson Audio Codec on its MP3 Player. It's music interface represents each song with a disc, allowing users to become their own disc jockeys. It has features like FM radio, recording, video player, A2DP Bluetooth and GPRS Class12. It also has a 2.0 megapixel camera and an expandable memory upto 8GB. The Karbonn K460 is a slider phone that the company claims has upto 300 hours battery standby time. It has features like FM Radio, recording, MP3 player, video player, camera, WAP, GPRS, MMS. K460 also has an expandable memory upto 8GB. Karbonn is a joint venture of United Telelinks group and Jaina group. Karbonn Mobiles was launched in March this year and already has a range of 20 mobile phones. Karbonn has tried to differentiate itself from other mobile giants by offering features like long battery life, touch screen and camera at a cheap price. The price range of Karbonn phones is between 2,000 to 5,000. Karbonn has over 500 service centers established across the country and aims to have 1000 service centers by March 2010. Karbonn plans to invest around 200 crores on marketing in the next 12 months. Along with the phones Karbonn also announced that they are the official sponsors of the Cape Cobras and associate sponsors of the Diamond Eagles in the Champions League T 20 '09.
