Bangalore: Acer is all set to launch its Chrome OS devices in two weeks.Acer's tech enthusiasts claim that, Chrome OS is designed for netbooks but it's still doubtful whether Acer would come up with a netbook or a tablet. Google Chrome might face severe competition for this as it is still in its developmental stages and it is rumoured to be ready by this year end to showcase the current trends of web based applications. Chrome OS is built for being fast, even if, critics are skeptical about the new OS and its usage, the success of Chrome still depends on the number of people who adopt the OS and its HTML-5 based web apps. There would be very limited local file system support, though this shouldn't be a problem if cloud computing does invade the world as Google suspects. Due to cloud computing, we might pay 500 bucks per gigaflop processing power, instead of 800 bucks for 2 mbps line. The open source project behind Chrome and Chrome OS, Chromium, has been posting some conceptual screenshots of what the OS may appear to be, although the real UI maybe very different from these shots
