Ankara : The world's first successful quadruple limb transplant operation was carried out at a Turkish hospital.
Two arms and two legs of a deceased donor were transplanted to a patient.
The operation lasted from Friday to Saturday at the medical centre of Hacettepe University in Ankara, Xinhua quoted the semi-official Anatolia news agency as saying.
Earlier in January, a triple limb transplant at the Mediterranean University Hospital in Turkey failed as the doctors had to remove the leg due to tissue incompatibility.
