4. Mary Anderson -Windshield Wiper

Earlier, in the 20th century drivers had a tough time halting at each stop to manually wipe off the moisture on the windshield, when it rains and it did not occur to any of them that the problem is something which can be eliminated. It was Mary Anderson who first thought about a windshield wiper when she noticed the difficulties drivers had to undergo while she was travelling from Alabama to New York City. There were many who thought the idea of windshield wipers to be distracting to the drivers, when it was first proposed by Anderson and now there isn’t even one single vehicle without wipers!
