Bangalore: Indian IT firm Wipro has entered into a five year agreement with BP an oil and gas company, to provide IT Applications Development and Maintenance (ADAM) services for BP's Fuels Value Chain and Corporate businesses globally. Wipro will support BP in its agenda of IT standardization, simplification, and achieving corporate efficiency.
Wipro has been selected as a strategic partner after a selection procedure which assessed the IT major on its IT capabilities, domain knowledge of the oil and gas sector and proven past record of operational transformation for customers. Suresh Vaswani, Joint CEO IT Business, Member of the Board, Wipro said,"We are delighted to have been chosen as a strategic partner by BP. This not only strengthens our existing relationship with them but significantly expands the scope to help BP in its transformational journey."
Through this agreement, Wipro is committed to provide benefits of scale and efficiency by leveraging its delivery model, which will look at delivering services from locations across the globe for BP.
