Windows Phone 8.1 To Get 'Cortana', A Siri And Google Now Rival
Like Siri, Cortana can call its users with their names or nick names and it comes with ability to save user information such as location data, browsing history, reminders, personal information, contacts and other such things allowing it to generate notifications similar to Google Now. Adding to it, Microsoft’s personal voice guided digital assistant gets data from services like Bing, Foursquare and others to increase contextual efficiency in its predictions. Just like its counterparts Siri and Google Now, Cortana learns more about the users the more they interact with it. The Redmond based company is to unveil Cortana in its upcoming Microsoft “Build” developer conference which is take place April 2-4 in San Francisco.
The Windows Phone 8.1 update will also bring other new features such as ability to add background images on homescreen, visible through Live Tiles, which can be activated or deactivated according to user wish. And there will be Swype like-keyboard interface, a notification centre and boatload of other such features.
