Will you like to charge your Phone by yelling at it?
Bangalore: Have any one of you ever wondered what your voice can do? Now soon your mobile can be charged by using your voice. Yes all you need to do is yell at it and the battery will be charged. Korean IT Times reported that a team of engineers from Sungkyunkwan University from South Korea are busy researching on new ways of charging your mobile phones. The harsh sound of your voice will be converted into electricity while having a conversation by employing strands of zinc oxide sandwiched between electrodes. The voice charger invented by Korean engineers is planning to make use of background noise and even music to keep the phone charging while it is not in use. When hit by sound waves, a sound absorbing pad on top will vibrate, causing the zinc oxide wires to compress and release. The movement thus creates or generates an electrical current that charges the battery. In 2009 U.S. start up Novothink invented the first solar charger ever for Apple's iPhone and iPad. Body heat was also adopted by Orange. They introduced Orange Power Wellies boots that charge a handset with heat from a person's feet via a 'power-generating sole'. Nokia also released the Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit that lets users charge their phones by simply pedaling away. However there are rumors that engineers at Illinois University will be developing a new type of battery which will extend the running time of mobile phones a hundredfold. The battery will be using carbon nanotubes, which are 10,000 times thinner than a human hair, reducing the power consumption of devices. In the era of smartphones, battery charging has become a top concern for consumers. However, smart researches like this can give smart solutions our day to day life.
