3. Twas The Night Before Christmas / A Visit from St. Nicholas / The Night Before Christmas - Clement Clarke Moore

The poem still has on the controversy over its author though, the American poet, Clement Clarke Moore is regarded the author of this poem.  The idea of Santa Claus with his physical attributes, night visits, Christmas gifts and the Santa Claus’s Reindeer all from the mid-nineteenth century to today is adapted from the poem. The poem narrates a story of Christmas Eve night where a man awakens to the noise and as he sees St. Nicholas with Christmas gifts. As he goes away, he wishes Happy Christmas to everyone.

“He was dressed all in furs from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a pedlar just opening his pack.”  Let the children sing it on this season.
