VLSI conference begins in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The 21st International Very Large Scale Integration  (VLSI Conference) and the 7th International Embedded systems Conference has started on Friday, bringing together leading Nano and VLSI experts from the global industry offering a wide range of technical and technology sessions addressing fresh challenges in the hot Nano technology sector. Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was the chief guest for the event.
"With a wide range of conference tracks, technical programs, design contests and the first ever International student conference, the Conference remains an International technology exchange forum for VLSI and Embedded System experts worldwide," said Dasaradha R Gude, General Chair, VLSI Conference in Hyderabad.
The five-day conference is expected to draw more than 1000 VLSI and Embedded Systems Experts, Researchers, Scientists, Academicians and 2000 student delegates. The event will also witness exhibits from worlds leading product companies. The conference will also have leaders and visionaries from different corners of world who will participate in the discussions on the topic "Challenges in the new Nano Technology" Era. 
 
On the first day, Dirk Meyer, President and COO, AMD, delivered the opening keynote speech after the formal inauguration of the meet on Saturday. It was followed by Plenary Keynote Address by Wally Rhines, CEO, Mentor Graphics. He spoke on the topic 'About new paradigm with in India: why experience is sometimes a bottleneck.' 
The conference also includes power packed keynote speeches that include Alain Artieri, Senior System Architect, ST Microelectronics, France who will speak on the System design challenges and solutions for future Nanoscale process technologies.  The event will also see Anantha Chandrakasan from MIT Design who will speak on Considerations for Next Generation Micro Power Systems. 
 
The 5 day conference will feature a three-day technical program from January 6 to 8, 2008 including power packed keynote and plenary talks from world leaders, notable CEO's, high-quality technical paper presentations that reflect the state-of-the-art in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems in addition to embedded tutorials, a panel discussion, and a parallel track for industry forum.
