Chunky:
Known for its trapezoidal shape, the Chunky bar was introduced in the late 1930s by New York based candy maker Philip Silvershein and was made with raisins, roasted peanuts and cashews produced by Nestle! The chunky is evocative of a fruit and nut bar, only a lot chunkier! The original candy was supposedly to be in the shape of a pyramid and was named after the candy maker's "chunky" granddaughter. Silvershein, a friend of William Wrigley Jr., at first had his Chunky bars circulated by the Wrigley Gum Company which was later acquired by Nestle in 1984.
