Bangalore: Vinod Dham-led NEA-IndoU.S. Ventures has pumped $2.25 million (Rs 9 crore) as capital funding into education-related technology solutions provider Idenizen Smartware.
The money will be used for the Bangalore-based Idenizen's countrywide expansion plans including setting up branch offices and servicing centers as well as strengthening firm's product offerings.
The fund will enable the company to take its patented product, 'SmartCampus,' a smart card-enabled software for the automation of campus functions, to the educational campuses and institutions across the country, said Idenizen Founder and CEO Girish Baliga
Idenizen has already implemented the 'SmartCampuses' in 100 institutions. The software offers a solution that integrates activities like admission, academic records, examinations, attendance, timetables and library management onto a single software-enabled platform. The software can also automate the department administration, staff profile, staff payroll, accounting and hostel management.
According to Kumar Shiralagi, managing director, NEA-IndoUS Ventures, the market for such solutions would be driven by forward-thinking educational institutions, who are today willing to invest in technology to deliver to their end customers: students, faculty and administration.
