Bangalore: Viewdle, a visual analysis company has launched an application called Social Camera in the Android Market. The SocialCamera uses sophisticated, proprietary algorithms to automatically create a 'faceprint' of the captured. It saves the frames of the person's face you are looking at in the viewfinder. Once that face has been tagged, the faceprint is saved to the phone and the user will not have to tag that person when a new photo of them is snapped. Then it instantly connect names to those in photos and share the images with those involved using social networking service Facebook; photo-sharing website Flickr, or by email or instant messages. The Social camera is first of its kind in face recognition based consumer application. It allows one to tag your friends even before you share it in facebook, twitter and other social sites as soon as you take the picture and recognizes who's in your viewfinder. It is the ultimate tool for socializing and communication. SocialCamera was created to start conversations with the phone on your camera. Faceprints of your friends will let you communicate back and forth, with photos. However, in order to run the application you would require a device running Android 2.x with a 1GHz or faster processor. And when applied on HTC Desire HD phone, it made wonders. Viewdle is planning to launch the Social Camera both directly as well as in partnership with leading consumer electronics manufacturers. Viewdle has turned the mobile into real time messaging application and has imparted human eyes to smartphones now. The SocialCamera application is available for free at the Android Market. Viewdle was founded in 2007. It has its headquartered at Palo Alto, California, with operations across Europe and South America. It is a venture-backed company and its investors include: Qualcomm Ventures, Anthem Venture Partners, Best Buy Capital, and Blackberry Partners Fund.
