Bangalore: Bangalore-based Via, formerly FlightRaja, the technology-based services company, has roped in former e-commerce site Taggle.com's Founder and CEO, John Kuruvilla, as their Chief Marketing Officer. The company has also launched Via Bus Tours as a domestic pilgrimage tourist service.

Kuruvilla had founded Taggle.com, which ceased all its operations recently. He had resigned from Taggle in August 2011. Prior to founding Taggle, Kuruvilla was the Director at U.S. Pizza & 20 North, the COO-Commercial & Revenue at Air Deccan, the Executive Vice President, Marketing at The Oberoi Group, and the CMD at Propmart Technologies. He was also the Senior Vice President at Leo Burnett and Contract Advertising, and the Senior VP at Contract Advertising.

Co-Founded in 2006, by Vinay Gupta and Amit Aggarwal, Via provides services like bookings for flights, railways, buses and works with agents who process their customers transactions through the online portal. The various platforms are iViaWorld.com, a B2B portal, which helps suppliers, travel agents and tour operators to add their deals and discounts for hotels; ViaTravelNetwork for automating the process of large travel agents; Viaforbus to enable bus operators to go online to set up an inventory management system; Viaforcorporate.com which helps corporate to manage their employees travel. The company also offers a web storefront for customers who want to create their own e-ticketing sites.

Via has brought about a change in the travel domain in India and has made value added changes to benefit customers and business channels. It is committed to consistently innovate, improve and deliver the highest possible standards of business partnership to provide a profitable Return on Investment (ROI) and growth in the market share. The company has secured a total investment of $15 million from venture capitalists. It received $5 million in investments from NEA-IndoUS Ventures in 2007 and $10 million from Sequoia Capital.

Prior to founding Via, Gupta has worked with consultancies in the Risk Management business with Credit Suisse, First Boston in New York and consultancies with Citibank NA, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and BMW. He holds a B.E. in Computer Science from SV University and is presently pursuing CFA from the CFA Institute of America.

Amit Aggarwal has worked as the Head of Metrics and Data analytics. He has also worked in Ford and Daimler Chrysler. Aggarwal has a degree in Computer Science from IIT, Roorkee, and has been awarded the President of India Gold medal for versatility and overall excellence.
