California: Potential entrepreneurs were energized by the interesting presentation by U.S. Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra at the inaugural White House Initiative Summit on Entrepreneurship & Small Business Growth on January 7. The event was hosted by the White House Initiative on Asian American and Pacific Islanders on the Microsoft campus. Speaking on the occasion, Chopra said that solutions are needed on applications that streamline legacy infrastructure and analytics that capitalize upon the volume of data the government is currently releasing in the public domain. He talked about areas where entrepreneurs can submit ideas and projects to the government. Federal Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra has recently announced directive that requires all U.S. government agencies to upgrade public-facing Web sites and services by September 30, 2012 to support IPv6. This, according to Chopra, is a good opportunity for entrepreneurs.
