College Dropout The man leading the most successful company on the planet never graduated from college, in reality, he didn't even get close. After graduating from high school in Cupertino, California, Jobs enrolled in Reed College in 1972. He stayed at Reed for only one semester, dropping out rapidly due to the financial lumber the private school's steep tuition positioned on his parents. He can be joined in this league by tycoons like Bill Gates (Microsoft), Richard Branson (Virgin Group), Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Michael Dell (Dell Computers), Azim Premji (Wipro), John D. Rockefeller (American oil baron, investor, and philanthropist), Dhirubhai Ambani (Reliance Industries) and many more. In his famous 2005 Commencement Speech to Stanford University, Jobs said of his time at Reed: "It wasn't all romantic. I didn't have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends' rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5 cent deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the seven miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple."

"We" Not "I" One significant thing about Jobs' public performance and interviews was his exercise of the pronoun "we." Approximately each time Jobs spoke, he never said "I", but he means "I" using a "We." During an interview at D5, Walt Mossberg curiously asked him, "Who's 'we'?" Jobs replied, "Well, ME!" His biological sister Mona Simpson wrote in her novel about her brother that this habit of Jobs was factual in private conversation too.
