Bangalore: Can you believe it, in 2010 people sent 25 billion tweets! Twitter took an initiative in analyzing the tweets to identify the top 10 overall trends, as well as the leading trends in news events, people, technology, sports etc. Twitter has become an indicator of what's hot in today's world. Technology trends like Apple iPad and Google Android has made into the top tech tweets in 2010 along with Gulf oil spill, earthquake in Haiti and entertainment icons like Justin Bieber and Harry Potter.
Twitter also pulled out a list for the top 10 technology tweets for 2010. It includes Apple iPad, Google Android, Apple iOS, Apple iPhone, Call of Duty Black Ops, New Twitter, HTC, RockMelt, MacBook Air, and Google Instant.
"From earthquakes and politics to pop stars and hash tags, Twitter Trends are a window into what the world is talking about. These Trends indicate the things that are most meaningful in our lives. Each day on Twitter, people tweet about news, entertainment and cool new technology," Jodi Olson, a Twitter Spokeswoman wrote in a blog post.
Yahoo's most searched gadgets list was topped by the iPad followed by the iPhone 4. Even Google agrees to the fact that the most searched key word is technology. All these lead us towards a question: Can 2010 be described as a year of technology revolution?
