10. Microsoft Buys Skype
Microsoft investing and acquiring Luxembourg-based VoIP upstart Skype for $8.5 billion shows that they have loads of cash. The present fascination of Microsoft with mobile and enterprise services makes a great deal of sense. The effect of the acquisition cannot be seen for a while, but when the Skype will be made available on windows phone it would be one of the greatest achievements. May be the world will be Skyping through internet explorer in the coming years.
