Big Data, one of the most-discussed technology topics of 2013, will remain a big problem for organizations in Asia Pacific. A recent Gartner report revealed that only around 25.6 percent of businesses in the region have invested in Big Data, although the same companies think they'll catch up with their US peers (at 37.8 percent) within two years.
The reality is businesses need help harnessing value from their Big Data – wherever it resides in the organization. And data is only going to get more complicated with Internet of Things (IoT) getting personal in 2014, according to Forrester. Most BI solutions are focused on processing Big Data, rather than distributing it in the right format and the right size to business users. In 2014, successful organizations are those who can provide users with technology tools that will make Big Data feel “small” for users.
