The remake of the ‘Agneepath’ of the angry young man, Amitabh Bachchan, proved lucky for Karan Johar and the other names related to this movie.

An opening day’s collection of 21.76 crore was enough to break all the previous records in the opening day of any other movies in Bollywood. The first five day’s collection of Agneepath was 69.5 crore and by the end of the first week, it collected 85.88 crore.

Karan Johar is known for his marketing strategies and he did well with Agneepath too. In the overseas, this movie collected 16.5 crore in its first week.

5. Son of Sardar

Son of Sardar was the highest earning movie of Ajay Devgan. After this movie, Ajay’s ‘Bol Bachchan’ also became a member of this club.

Though this movie failed to have an outrageous opening in the box office, it gained pace steadily and did a business of 117 crore. The opening day collection was 8.5 crore, which was much lesser than the second day’s collection of 16 crore. The first week collection was 62 crore and the second week collection of this movie was 15.16 crore.

With a tag of ‘average’, this movie earned $2 million in its first week in the overseas.
