Chocolate in Spain is as famous as the sun and architecture. Little did Christopher Columbus know that the cacao beans he discovered would become an obsession in Europe. The oldest connoisseur brand for chocolate and pralines in Spain, Valor, is in La Villajoyosa which is occasionally nicknamed "Chocolate City". You can visit the chocolate museum in the town to find out how your favorite treats are made. Don't overlook a chocolate massage at Gran Hotel Balneario Blancafort Thermal Centre and a visit to Museo de La Xocolata in Barcelona; grab some chocolate with churros in Alicante.
