THQ, ngmoco collaboration brings new Star Wars games on iPhone
Bangalore: THQ, a global provider of mobile entertainment, has announced that it is working with ngmoco, a premier creator and publisher of applications for mobile devices, to develop and co-publish Star Wars Imperial Academy exclusively for iPhone and iPod touch. Star Wars Imperial Academy will present iOS gamers around the world with a multiplayer game built around ngmoco's Eliminate engine. Players take control of a Stormtrooper and compete against other recruits in four-player death-match battles on iconic Star Wars areas such as Hoth, Cloud City and Tatooine. Players will have to master close-quarters blaster combat, long-range sniping and explosive armaments in all the classic Star Wars settings. "We've been inspired by the Star Wars films to raise the quality bar to a new high for Imperial Academy, which we've developed as a totally unique experience, combining a first-person shooter with the excitement of Star Wars for amazing mobile game play," said Adam Comiskey, Vice President, THQ Wireless. Neil Young, CEO and Founder of ngmoco said, "As huge fans of the Star Wars universe, ngmoco is excited to work on such a storied franchise for our first ever property-based game. Star Wars Imperial Academy brings together our passion for first-person shooters and Star Wars in an amazingly fun and high quality experience." The game is available now on the app store for free.
