2,559 patents were granted to this consumer-electronics company that is well known for its manufacture of televisions, video recording and viewing technologies. On an average, it has fled more than 2,000 patents every year, in order to compete with its brethren-- other consumer electronics-producing companies from Japan.

3. Canon:

According to Business Insider’s report, Canon is the fifth most valuable company in Japan, and the 141th most valuable in the world, (as in the Forbes 2000 report). It too is a Japanese company, and was granted 2,821 patents last year.
