These Are the World's Least Peaceful Nations

South Sudan:

A landlocked country located in east-central Africa, South Sudan emerges as one of the most violent countries in the Index.  This is due to its “fragile” infrastructure, severe poverty, weak government, fraught relations with Sudan and heavy reliance on oil revenues. It has struggled to establish a functioning government since its declaration of independence in 2011.

As per the study, it is said that the suspension of oil production further damaged this country’s economy. It also leads to rivalries and clashes that threaten peace between the neighbors. There are failures within the system of governance and lack of respect for the rule of law and human rights. Since its independence in the year 2011, it is the high inflation that has been adversely affecting the economy, leaving the country still undeveloped. And also industry and infrastructure in this landlocked nation remain limited, daunting prohibitive costs on the procurement and delivery of relief items and other operational activities.
