Sequoia Capital has invested around $30-35 million recently in the ecommerce sector. Few of its recent investments in the ecommerce section include Via, Fashionandyou, Freecultr, Stripe, Tutorspree, Houzz.

Founded in 1972 by Don Valentine, the venture capital firm invests between $100,000-1 million in the seed stage, between $1-10 million in early stage, and between $10-100 million in the growth stage companies. With offices in U.S., China, India, and Israel, and has raised $1.5 billion in funds till date. The firm’s famous portfolio investments include Google, Yahoo, Paypal, NVDIA, Cisco Systems, Oracle, Apple, YouTube, and Zappos among others.
