An email marketing tool that has generated over 30 million email previews for customers worldwide, Litmus is another startup that is still bootstrapped. Founded in 2005 by Paul Farnell, Mathew Brindley and David Smalley, Litmus was started with a used computer and a sum of $800. The founders feel there is no need of taking outside funding and are not willing to part with the freedom and flexibility they are enjoying.
