The key to CEOs' success
Fremont: In any given field, people try to imitate the life of the successful leaders, so that they can learn from their lives and improve upon it so as to reach newer heights themselves. Same is the case with CEOs--people who are currently occupying the responsibilities and those who aspire to reach that level, all are trying to figure out the characteristics of a perfect CEO. There are many personality types among the top honchos of leading firms--some are down-to-earth, some are bossy, some are humble yet rigid, some are stubborn. But only few among these personality types have been able to make it large in the corporate world. A majority of the people, who have climbed up the ladder by way of their merit, would try to keep a low profile, be very humble and philanthropic--they would always be grateful to the people under them, as without them they would never be able to reach such spiraling heights. But the key similarity among all these people is persistence. They have to persuade their team members to take risks, face challenges, not to be let down in case of failures--in nutshell act like the captain of a big ship who has to make sure that the ship is able to face even the fierce storms. A successful CEO is one who is able to execute the game plan successfully, regardless of the difficulties, obstacles, or come whatever may. Execution of a plan s not an independent affair, it involves a nod from the whole team, and making them understand that the change would be beneficial for them as well. The efficiency of the CEO is reflected in the fact that he has to be proactive and make spot decisions--some of which might not go down well with the others in the company. Change is the only thng which is constant, and the CEOs should always be on their toes, looking out to change some aspects, which will show not just a good leadership skill, but also how he s able to manage the mindsets of his people in such a restricted timeframe. CEOs are the ones who are the key to seal fundings, acquisitions, and strike gold with investors, so they have to be good listeners, be self-directed, and always be updated. Employees feel most motivated when they make progress, as it is a signal that they will be getting pay hikes, which further motivates them to work harder. Thus, CEOs should know how to get the job done, and keep motivating the employees till the expected results are achieved. This leads us to a very important question, why don't arrogant CEOs succeed? Well, it is not always about being mechanic and talking about work all the time, you are getting you work done by humans, so those tiny emotions, play a big role. You should wear a velvet glove above your iron fist and react to the call of the situations. The best leaders are not just the ones who know what work is to be done, but also how to get the work done right.
