He is known as one of the “fathers of Internet.” Kahn, along with Vinton G Serf invented what is known as the backbone of the internet- Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the Internet Protocol (IP). He propagated the importance of packet switching networks and played a major role in forming the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which is responsible for the development of new technologies.
