Bangalore: If you think you did not get enough of the iPad, here is one another reason for you to get addicted to the funky gadget. News Corporation CEO, Rupert Murdoch is teaming up with Apple CEO Steve Jobs to launch a new digital-only newspaper reports David Murphy for PCMAG.COM.
"The Daily," will be streamed seven days a week for a fair price of $4.25 monthly ($0.99 per week) to the users. It will cover national new, a "tabloid sensibility with a broadsheet intelligence" that's fun to read, but nevertheless serious in its news gathering mission also.
The digital news paper will have around 100 staffers working round the clock and there will be no foreign bureaus contribution /courtesy involved nor even a branch in Washington D.C. But reporters have to cover elements like the 2012 campaign (and other high-level political news) by breaking news like a typical print news journalist.
However, the important note is that "The Daily" won't be iPad-only. The bets version is expected to be launched at the end December. The full version of "The Daily" is expected to hit the iPad and other unannounced tablets in early 2011.
The rumor comes along as Apple is investigating newspaper subscription plans that would run in a manner similar to the company's App Store. In return for a cut of the subscription price and advertising revenues, newspapers and magazines will be permitted to offer subscriptions through the App Store itself.
