The Best of the Best: Top 10 Cloud Storage Providers

Amazon Web Services:

Truly the market leader in cloud storage, Amazon Web Services is one of the firsts to enter cloud storage market. According to Gartner, AWS pricing is credited as the “industry reference point” in cloud pricing. The Simple Storage Service (S3) from the company is considered as the basic object storage, while Elastic Block Storage is for larger storage volumes. The services don’t end up there as recently AWS announced RedShift, a cloud-based data warehousing service.

But 2013 is all going to be a hard year for AWS to keep its place up front, Gartner notes. Tools like AWS Storage Gateway, the ability to create hybrid storage architectures that span both on-premise storage options and AWS's cloud still needs better work to be perfected. But still Amazon Web Services is an innovative company and it will continue to release new and pioneering products to round out its market leading position, predicts Gartner.
