TechSparks 2010: The hunt for top Indian Startups begins

Bangalore: In a growing market like India, prospects show up at countless places. The trick is to grab such opportunities and make the most out of them. TechSparks 2010 is one such platform provided to the technology startups in India to prove their mettle. Organized by YourStory and supported by Microsoft Bizspark Program, Canaan Partners and CNBC TV 18 Young Turks, the pan-India hunt for the most promising tech startups in India will be held on August 13, 2010 at the Royal Orchid, Bangalore.
The hunt which started a few months back saw nearly 200 startups across the country, participate. 18 of the 200 participating startups have been shortlisted by a jury to pitch their business ideas to a panel comprising of well known venture capitalists and business leaders. Post presentations five startups will be identified as the TechSparks of 2010.
The final five will get the opportunity to participate in an 'Incubation Week' focusing on software products, mobile products, cloud computing and Web 2.0. And things don't just end here. The startups will be provided with strategic and marketing support, mentoring and funding opportunities. Recognition and visibility among potential customers/clients, investment community, media and partners is guaranteed.
Participating in the event are well known leaders like Prashant Choksey, Co Founder, Mumbai Angels Network, Alok Mittal, Managing Director, Canaan Partners, Girish Joshi, Technical Adviser, Microsoft Bizspark India, Charles Assissi, Executive Editor, Forbes India, Sharad Sharma, Entrepreneur in Residence, Canaan Partners among others who will share their views and advise to budding entrepreneurs.
