Technopark companies win national awards for innovation

Thiruvananthapuram: MobMe and Light Logics, two incubated companies based in Kerala's Technopark, have won national innovation awards, it was announced here Saturday. MobMe won the Nasscom Innovation Awards 2008 for the 'Most Innovative Start-up' and the Indian Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Parks and Business Incubators Association (ISBA) award for the 'Best Start-up ICT Company of 2008'.
Light Logics Holography and Optics Ltd won the ISBA award for the 'Best Start-up Engineering Company for 2008'.
Technopark chief executive Siddhartha Bhattacharya said the awards won by these two companies were a recognition for Technopark's business incubation initiatives.
"These awards reiterate the fact that our incubation initiatives are world class and one of the best in the industry," Bhattacharya told reporters Saturday.
"These awards for us at MobMe are recognition to our efforts and vision to make innovation our way forward for our growth along with putting Kerala on the map for innovation," said MobMe chief executive Sanjay Vijay Kumar.
The company won the award for its flagship product Mobshare.in - a mobile content sharing platform and distribution network.
Light Logics Holography and Optics chief executive P.T. Ajith Kumar said the efforts of the Technopark administration and government support have made the Technopark Technology Business Incubation (T-TBI) Centre as one of the most prestigious incubation centres of the country.
