Twitter updates its android application

Bangalore: The microblogging website Twitter has updated the Android version of its mobile application that allows for easier sign up and universal search capabilities. The new redesign came after the application has skyrocketed in use in the last two months.
With the latest version, it has a brand new interface that is more in line with Twitter's applications for other platforms as well as some additional functions. It is done in the name of better convenience and efficiency.
The new version enables the users to view Twitter trends, browse tweets and see suggested users in Twitter for Android even without an account or without even signing in. Users without an account can now sign up for Twitter from within the app.
Universal search option is added to the new Twitter for Android which offers features to see tweets including the term users are searching, tweets sent by people near their location, or people whose user names include that term. Users will be able to provision this capability when they first sign up to use the app.
